Executive Committee Report - September 5, 2023

The executive committee has issued the following report for the September 5, 2023 Assembly Meeting:


Executive Updates:

  • Tomorrow, Wednesday, September 6th, CSG is hosting an information session for student leaders about Campus Plan 2050 and Vision 2034. The event space has limited capacity, so a link to register was sent to all authorized signers of student organizations to target student leaders who represent larger pockets of the student body. Please reach out to Meera and Bipasha with any questions about the event!

Programs and Events:

  • Maize & Blue Cupboard Awareness events - Wednesday, September 20 & Friday, September 22

    • CSG will partner with MDining and MBC to help raise awareness of resources available on campus

  • Hydration Stations

    • CSG will partner with Fraternity & Sorority Life to help provide hydration stations for home football games

  • Diversifood - Sunday, October 8

    • This will take place on Sunday, October 8th from 3:00-6:00 PM on the Diag. The event will feature various identity-based student organizations highlighting their favorite foods from their culture, and will also include student performances on stage.

Policy Team

  • Policy Director Gwen Tatara is conducting research on test prep programs at other universities, with a particular focus on deals with private companies like Kaplan, in order to understand the context related to a potential test prep program revamp.

  • Policy Advisor on DEIJ Nneka Obiekwu is connecting with various student organizations on campus for collaborations on her future programming, as well as to better understand how CSG can help support identity-based student organizations.

  • Institutional Sustainability Learning Requirement

    • Policy Advisor on Sustainability Sayoni Bandyopadhyay is conducting research on the possibility of an institutional sustainability learning requirement. She has been in contact with faculty from the PitE program.

  • Government Relations

    • Director of Government Relations Akhila Mullapudi has been coordinating civics education initiatives and strategic planning with Democracy and Debate, as well as working on a Dinners for Democracy initiative with Turn Up Turnout (TUT), and community meetings with the Ginsberg Center. She is also helping to facilitate TUT’s Walks to the Polls initiative, which groups student affinity groups together to encourage engagement in the upcoming elections.
