Executive Committee Report - March 25, 2025

The executive committee has issued the following report for the March 25, 2025 Assembly Meeting:


  1. Notices to the Assembly

    1. Please use THIS FORM (ANONYMOUS) for any and all feedback for the Executive Branch.

  2. Communications Activities

    1. The final ACE will be released on April 1st.

    2. If you would like to do an Instagram Takeover before the end of the semester, the last opportunity for takeovers will be the end of next week, April 4th. Please continue to use THIS FORM to sign up.

  3. Programs and Events

    1. The DEAC successfully organized the second InclusiviTEA event which fostered great conversation around sports and the adaptive sports programs as well.

    2. World Bites, the cultural food fair will be happening March 27th 6-8 PM on the Diag. There will be 8 tabling orgs handing out food and 3 performance orgs. If you would like to volunteer, please sign up using THIS SHEET

    3. Operation Graduation is working on washing and packaging all of the graduation gowns. If you have an in unit washing machine that you do not need to pay quarters to use, please volunteer to wash a couple gowns and return all gowns by March 31st because packaging will begin April 1st. Please reach out to our Deputy Director of Programming Max with any questions regarding gowns at maxstef@umich.edu

    4. Sunset Cinema will be on April 4th from 7-9 PM on the Diag. Contracts are in place and advertising for the event will be happening very soon. The movie for this year is Tangled!

    5. We have been receiving great engagement with the subsidized graduation photos in collaboration with michgrads. The photoshoots will be March 31st and April 1st and there are a few limited spots remaining so please advertise to graduating seniors that are Pell Grant and work study eligible. The interest form is linked HERE.

    6. The joint CSG X MPC Conference will be March 29th 1-5 PM. There will be a Panel including Congresswoman Debbie Dingell, Mayor Chris Taylor, and the Executive Director of the Arab American Institute Maya Berry. The panel will be followed by Workshops including Foreign Policy and Campaign Strategy. You should have all received an RSVP invite. 

    7. The Grocery Store Bus Program has been approved and the pilot program will be happening April 12-13 and April 19-20. More updates will be coming soon. 

    8. The joint CSG End of Year Gala will be held on April 19th. 

  4. Policy Team

    1. The Policy Team has been working really hard for the grocery store transportation program implementation. They recently met with Representative Dingell’s office to discuss the Student Regent Proposal and letter of support, and they are actively working to finalize and send it out soon. As part of their ongoing housing initiative, they also met with the Director of Beyond the Diag to advance their short video series and develop a rating system for houses and landlords on the housing website.

    2. The DEAC is hosting an Autism Awareness Event that will be on April 2nd from 1-5 first floor UGLI There will be various fidget toys, prizes, and an overall educational opportunity to learn more about World Autism Day. Additionally there will be a case competition on April 5th with more details to come.

    3. SMPSEC recently met with SAPAC to explore opportunities for collaboration and ways to provide support throughout the rest of the semester. They are currently trying to work with dorms to implement a resource box replenished each month with Women’s menstrual products, condoms, emergency contraceptive, and resource cards.

    4. The Chief Diversity Officer met with the Office of New Student Programs and have had some exciting conversations about a collaboration with MESA to implement antiracism training.

  5. Meeting Headlines

    1. Mario, Jake, Joyce, Tiya, and Representative Brown attended the United Student Governments Conference at Oakland University on March 22nd.

    2. Mario met with Senate Faculty Chair Modrak for bi-weekly updates

    3. Mario met with Chief Financial Officer Geoff Chatas and discussed late night transportation and the Maize and Blue Cupboard expansion initiative.
