The University Elections Commission is responsible for administering and certifying elections to the Central Student Government.

The Winter 2017 Elections will be held on March 22-23, 2017.  All currently enrolled students are eligible to vote online at vote.umich.edu.

The Winter 2017 Candidate Application Period has ended.

Commission:

Election Director:  Jacob Pearlman.

Backup Election Director: Joe Moses. Joe is a first-year law student at the University of Michigan Law School, a double wolverine, and a former professional actor. Favorite acting memories include: providing voices for Star Trek: Intro Darkness and many episodes of The Simpsons, producing and performing a national tour of The Joe Moses One-Man Showses (JMOMS), and playing Professor Snape in Team StarKid’s A Very Potter Musical.

Commissioner: Ciara Davis.  Ciara received her B.A. in Global Studies at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill before joining the Class of 2018 at Michigan Law. She lives in Ypsilanti with her husband Bruce and two cats, Toodles and Silver. 

Commissioner: Jorge E. Mancillas.  Jorge is originally from San Luis Potosí, México, but immigrated to Phoenix, AZ in 1996. He obtained an undergraduate degree in Communication and Spanish from Arizona State University. Subsequently, he pursued a master’s in Spanish literature at his alma mater and was able to share his research in multiple institutions across the country. Currently, he is a law student at the University of Michigan Law School.

Commissioner: Whit Froehlich. Whit is an Ann Arbor native who studied Mathematics and Economics at Amherst College before returning home, first to work as a clerk in the University of Michigan Emergency Department, and then to study at the University of Michigan Medical School, where he is currently a second-year student.

Commissioner: Marisa Bannon. Marisa is a first-year law student at the University of Michigan Law School.  After graduating from Vanderbilt University with a BA in Latin American Studies, she received a Fulbright Scholarship in Uruguay.  Most recently, she worked as the Production Coordinator at NBC’s TODAY show.  Marisa is looking forward to serving the Michigan community on the University Election Committee this semester.
