On March 30th, Central Student Government will be hosting Community Connect from 4-7 PM in the Kuenzel Room of the Michigan Union, which is an event that aims to connect prospective University of Michigan students with community service-centered student organizations. The program is modeled after Festifall/Winterfest — the only difference is that it’s specifically for community service organizations and will be for prospective students on a Campus Day tour, rather than currently enrolled students.
We are running this event because student organization leaders have told us about the struggles of recruiting students amidst the chaos of Festifall and all of the mass meetings that take place in the first month of the fall semester. Community Connect is an opportunity for service organizations to connect with incoming students in advance so they have some context and can seek out and join service organizations once they arrive on campus in the fall.
